Hannah is one of the bar staff at Club Afterlife, introduced alongside Mike on Keira’s very first night when Jerry points her out across the room. Beyond her name and her role behind the bar, the books give very little physical description of her, so this bio is built entirely from her actions and personality as shown on the page.
What comes through clearly is that Hannah has been around long enough to have strong opinions, and she does not keep them to herself. When Cassie Jones joins the rota, Hannah makes her feelings known to Keira immediately and without any prompting, delivering a frank, colourful warning that Cassie will spend the entire shift draped over Mike and that the girl is poison. She turns out to be entirely right, and watches the evening’s events unfold from the other end of the bar with a smug, satisfied expression that suggests she is enjoying every second of being proven correct.
She is comfortable enough in her workplace to stand and chat at the bar during quieter moments, and steady enough to get on with the cleaning at the end of a shift without fuss. She has a dry, no-nonsense quality to her that contrasts neatly with the more theatrical behavior around her. When Cassie starts throwing evil glares in Keira’s direction after Mike abandons her mid-sentence to come and talk to Keira instead, Hannah simply steps away from the conversation with a smug smile on her face, leaving Keira to handle it, which feels entirely in character.
She does not appear in Books 2 through 13.
