Carrie Ella, primarily known as Ella, is the cherished daughter of Libby and Frank and the beloved niece of Keira, who was honored to bestow upon her the name. Introduced in “Hellbeasts’ Mistake,” Ella becomes a character of significance, with her story taking center stage in the subsequent “Hellbeast King” series.

As a young girl, the tender nickname “Ella Bella” was affectionately used by Aunt Keira, reflecting little Ella’s deep fascination with the tale of Beauty and the Beast. However, with the birth of Fae, this moniker evolved whimsically into “Ella Belly.” This playful name, originating from the joyous moments where Ella would delight in blowing raspberries on baby Fae’s belly, would adhere to her over the years, becoming a term of endearment utilized by family members and her cousin Faith well into Ella’s adult years.

Ella’s narrative gains momentum in the “Hellbeast King” series, where fate intricately entwines her path with that of Jared Cerberus. Their initial meeting, seemingly accidental, occurs when Ella is but a 16-year-old, navigating the complex tapestry of adolescence. The narrative then leaps forward, reacquainting readers with an older Ella who, after completing her collegiate journey, immerses herself in a career closely aligned with her love for animals, assuming the role of a park ranger.

In the cradle of nature, where the whispering trees and untamed wilderness provide a backdrop, Ella’s story with Jared Cerberus unfolds, weaving a narrative rich in adventure, romance, and the eternal dance between destiny and desire. The canvas of her life, painted with the hues of family love, personal growth, and a romance as wild and free as the beasts she tends to, invites readers into a captivating saga where every chapter reveals a new layer of her character and the world she inhabits.

The post Ella first appeared on The Afterlife Saga.

George Miller is Frank’s mother’s oldest brother, Franks’s Uncle from which he inherited the house he and Libby live in.

He was a well-liked man who always helped out with the community. He had been a fireman, most of his life but took early retirement when his wife passed away with cancer.

The death of his wife hit him hard, as it would with most, but it looked as though his family were kept in the dark about the true depth of his depression because one day a hiker found his hanging corpse in his log cabin.

He hadn’t spoken to his family in nine months. They put his suicide down to his desperation to be back with his wife. Frank had been the last person he had seen, two months prior to his death. He was also the last person he spoke to when he rang a week before he was found. He told Frank that he had left him everything, but his only wish was that the cabin and the land were never sold. He didn’t care about the house which Frank had found the strangest thing of all as it had been in Frank’s family for generations and his wife had adored the place.

George had started to actually get his life back together unbeknown to his family. He had an evening poker night with some of his old buddies from the fire department and he had finished restoring his cabin which he used for hunting. But he took a fateful visit to the library and that’s when he met who he didn’t know was a demon who fed off of his misery.

Yvonne Dubeck was an Ego Vereor Demon.

She was working as a Librarian and was instantly attracted to George because she could detect his grief.

Her name was Yvonne Dubeck and Draven told me that she was called an Ego Vereor Everto, meaning ‘Self Fear Demon’ in Latin. She liked to feed from the negative emotions caused by paranoia. She would gradually gain the trust of these poor unsuspecting humans by befriending them and then little by little she would implant delusions of what people feared the most.

In George’s case it was Alien abductions. He soon became obsessed that he had been abducted numerous times and was living in fear until his next abduction. In the end he became a recluse and lived in the woods like a hermit.

The only person he would see was Yvonne as he never got abducted when she was around. She would get stronger every second she was with him, but because he was a strong character, he would fight back getting better when not in her presence. Of course, she would not allow this to happen for long. In the end, she got the ultimate high when his paranoia got too much one day and he took his own life which unfortunately happened before Draven could intervene.

Draven had been too late to save George and Yvonne disappeared before her punishment could be inflicted.

The post George Miller first appeared on The Afterlife Saga.

Tom Robertson is one of the story’s most quietly devastating presences, and he never appears on the page at all.

Keira meets him during her freshman year at university in Southampton, England. They had been seeing each other for only a few weeks when Hugo Morgan killed him. Keira describes Tom simply but warmly: a nice guy, funny, smart, the type you could introduce to your parents. There is no drama in how she remembers him, no complicated feelings, just the plain sadness of someone who was uncomplicated and good and did not deserve what happened to him.

Morgan murders Tom and takes his phone. He then sends Keira a text pretending to be Tom, asking her to meet him. Keira, still feeling guilty about planning to report Morgan for his increasingly disturbing behavior and wanting a pleasant distraction, agrees without hesitation. She walks into the trap Morgan has set and is kidnapped.

She finds out the truth later, after the fact. Tom’s body is discovered dumped in the woods near the university. His throat had been cut so deeply that it nearly severed his head. The police, already investigating his murder, are the ones who tell Keira what happened. She breaks down. She blames herself, and continues to blame herself long after, for not going to the police sooner, for not seeing what Morgan was becoming before Tom paid the price for it.

He is mentioned only once across all 13 books, in Book 1, when Keira tells Draven the full story of what happened at university. It is a confession that costs her to make. Draven’s response, when she finishes, is to snarl that Morgan should have been caught sooner. He is right. Tom Robertson is the clearest measure of just how far Morgan’s obsession had already gone before Keira even knew she was in danger.

Charlotte is Keira’s flatmate and dormmate during Keira’s freshman year at university in Southampton, England, and one of the story’s most quietly significant absent presences.

She appears only in passing, in a single scene in Book 1 when Keira recounts her past to Draven. From those few lines, a clear picture of who Charlotte was emerges. When Morgan’s behavior toward Keira begins to escalate, and Keira dismisses it, telling herself it is sorted and trying not to cause problems, Charlotte is not convinced. She thinks Keira should go to the police or speak to someone at the university. She sees what Keira cannot yet bring herself to see. Keira, not wanting to create difficulties, ignores her advice.

The second mention of Charlotte comes when Morgan’s obsession reaches its peak. After a particularly frightening encounter in which he talks about running away with her, Keira finally returns to her room and tells Charlotte she plans to report him to the authorities. It is the last conversation they have.

What happens after is revealed only later, in the cold summary of aftermath that Keira gives Draven once she has recounted the rest. Morgan killed Charlotte and staged it to look like a suicide. The timing makes clear it was deliberate, a move to eliminate the one person at the university who had seen through him and urged Keira to act. Charlotte’s death, like Tom Robertson’s, is a measure of how methodically dangerous Morgan had become long before Keira understood the full picture.

She is never described physically. She has no dialogue beyond what Keira summarises. She exists in the narrative only as a voice Keira did not listen to in time, and as one of the losses that became part of the weight Keira carried when she eventually fled England. Draven’s response on hearing it, that Morgan should have been caught sooner, applies to Charlotte just as much as it applies to Tom.

She appears in Book 1 only and is not referenced again across the remaining books.
