Carrie Ella, primarily known as Ella, is the cherished daughter of Libby and Frank and the beloved niece of Keira, who was honored to bestow upon her the name. Introduced in “Hellbeasts’ Mistake,” Ella becomes a character of significance, with her story taking center stage in the subsequent “Hellbeast King” series.

As a young girl, the tender nickname “Ella Bella” was affectionately used by Aunt Keira, reflecting little Ella’s deep fascination with the tale of Beauty and the Beast. However, with the birth of Fae, this moniker evolved whimsically into “Ella Belly.” This playful name, originating from the joyous moments where Ella would delight in blowing raspberries on baby Fae’s belly, would adhere to her over the years, becoming a term of endearment utilized by family members and her cousin Faith well into Ella’s adult years.

Ella’s narrative gains momentum in the “Hellbeast King” series, where fate intricately entwines her path with that of Jared Cerberus. Their initial meeting, seemingly accidental, occurs when Ella is but a 16-year-old, navigating the complex tapestry of adolescence. The narrative then leaps forward, reacquainting readers with an older Ella who, after completing her collegiate journey, immerses herself in a career closely aligned with her love for animals, assuming the role of a park ranger.

In the cradle of nature, where the whispering trees and untamed wilderness provide a backdrop, Ella’s story with Jared Cerberus unfolds, weaving a narrative rich in adventure, romance, and the eternal dance between destiny and desire. The canvas of her life, painted with the hues of family love, personal growth, and a romance as wild and free as the beasts she tends to, invites readers into a captivating saga where every chapter reveals a new layer of her character and the world she inhabits.

The post Ella first appeared on The Afterlife Saga.

Yvonne Dubeck was an Ego Vereor Demon. She was small-framed, a thin woman with half-moon glasses resting on her long beak-like nose. She wore her hair pulled back into a tight bun. She was pale and her mousey colored hair did nothing for the grey strands showing through.

She was working as a Librarian and was instantly attracted to George because she could detect his grief.

George Miller is Frank’s mother’s oldest brother, Franks’s Uncle from which he inherited the house he and Libby live in.

He was a well-liked man who always helped out with the community. He had been a fireman, most of his life but took early retirement when his wife passed away with cancer.

The death of his wife hit him hard, as it would with most, but it looked as though his family were kept in the dark about the true depth of his depression because one day a hiker found his hanging corpse in his log cabin.

He hadn’t spoken to his family in nine months. They put his suicide down to his desperation to be back with his wife. Frank had been the last person he had seen, two months prior to his death. He was also the last person he spoke to when he rang a week before he was found. He told Frank that he had left him everything, but his only wish was that the cabin and the land were never sold. He didn’t care about the house which Frank had found the strangest thing of all as it had been in Frank’s family for generations and his wife had adored the place.

George had started to actually get his life back together unbeknown to his family. He had an evening poker night with some of his old buddies from the fire department and he had finished restoring his cabin which he used for hunting. But he took a fateful visit to the library and that’s when he met who he didn’t know was a demon who fed off of his misery.

Yvonne Dubeck was an Ego Vereor Demon.

She was working as a Librarian and was instantly attracted to George because she could detect his grief.

Candra is a servant in Dominic Draven’s private household and one of the quieter presences woven through the series. She appears only in Books 1, 2, and 13, but the small moments she is given are consistent and telling. (Book 13 being the forbidden chapters).

Keira first encounters her in Book 1, after Layla has stabbed her and Draven has brought her to his private rooms to recover. A small girl walks in carrying a tray of drinks and fruit, with short black hair streaked through with blue, a young and kind face, and a long black skirt worn over a shirt, with a blue corset on top. She introduces herself simply and sweetly, telling Keira her Master said she might be thirsty or hungry and that she should use the intercom if she needs anything else. Then she leaves, and the door locks behind her. The second time Keira encounters her, Candra is wearing the same style of outfit in black and red, arriving to escort Keira back to the VIP area to begin her shift.

She is, in every sense, professionally gentle. She speaks sweetly, moves quietly, and carries herself with a soft deference toward Draven and a natural warmth toward Keira that is entirely her own. In Book 2, when Keira is brought food again, and Candra is present, Keira thanks her before she can leave. Candra turns back, looking shocked, and then smiles gratefully before going. The reaction says a great deal. She is not accustomed to being thanked.

Book 13 reveals a more active side of her. She is still working in Draven’s VIP area in the alternate timeline chapters, and when circumstances place Keira in a difficult position, Candra is the one dispatched to escort her to the restroom. She does so with her usual sweetness, following instructions. But when Keira is caught in a bathroom confrontation and needs a way out, Candra has already arranged one, leaving a side door unlocked behind a red curtain and creating a diversion so Keira can use it. She had planned it from the start. Keira notes this, and the fact that Candra disappears from her post exactly when needed confirms she kept her end of the arrangement.

She is described in the series notes for Book 3’s Transfusion chapter as a really nice angel, which confirms that her gentle, quietly loyal nature is not merely a personality trait but a nature. She is angelic in the truest sense, serving Draven’s household with care and discretion and extending a small, unassuming kindness to Keira at every opportunity.

What does Candra look like? Here’s a detailed visual profile.

The books give us a clear snapshot of Candra from her first appearance in Book 1, and it does not change significantly across her appearances.

Height and Build: Small. She is described as a small girl, slight and unimposing in frame. Her size is part of what makes her seem unthreatening and easy to overlook, which suits her role perfectly.

Face: Young and kind. Those are the exact words used, and they capture her well. There is nothing sharp or guarded about her face. She looks approachable and gentle, the kind of face that puts people at ease immediately.

Hair: Short, black, with blue streaks running through it. The blue is distinctive and gives her look a subtle alternative edge that contrasts with her otherwise soft, sweet manner.

Style: Her signature outfit in Book 1 is a long black skirt worn over a shirt, with a blue corset layered on top. The second time Keira sees her, she is wearing the same style but in black and red, suggesting she has a consistent aesthetic of long skirts and corseted tops in dark colors. It reads as gothic-adjacent servant attire, practical but with its own character.

Overall vibe: A small, quietly pretty girl with kind eyes and an alternative streak in her hair that hints at more personality than her reserved manner initially suggests. Gentle and unassuming, the kind of person you might underestimate until she quietly unlocks a door for you.

Takeshi is one of Dominic Draven’s most trusted council members and his designated Seeker, a powerful Angel whose gift of foresight has served his king for centuries. He is a quiet, gracious, and deeply respected presence across the saga, described by Keira on their first proper meeting as always looking kind and gracious, a quality that never wavers regardless of circumstances.

His appearance is distinctive and immediately recognizable. He wears Japanese robes, his signature attire across every book, sometimes plain black with a purple dragon embroidered on the back, sometimes in darker variations. His raven black hair is slicked back from his face. His features are sharply defined, with high cheekbones and a distinct sharp point to his chin that Keira notes specifically.

His face carries the kind of nobility that speaks of bloodline rather than performance. In Book 1, when his eyes enter a vision state, they are described as glazing over into muddy water, flickering between black and clear like a stormy night, before returning to normal. In Book 12, deeper into a trance state, his eyes go milky white, and he cries contrasting black tears, an image that stops everyone in the room.

Before his rebirth as an immortal, he was Miyamoto Musashi, one of the most celebrated swordsmen and Grand Masters in Japanese history. His father, Munisai, is a figure who, as Draven discovers in Book 5, resides in the supernatural realm below. Takeshi has been a member of Draven’s council since his rebirth, which Draven places at 1630 in one telling and 1685 in another reference across the books.

His gift, which Draven calls Second Sight, allows him to home in on certain beings and channel their memories, described as picking out random puzzle pieces and trying to discover the full picture. The closer his connection to a being, the more he can access. It is not a passive or painless ability. Visions push him close to death, draining him to the point where Draven has given him his own energy to help him recover. In Book 1, a significant vision causes him to shatter a glass in his hand, bringing the entire table to stunned silence. In Book 12, Keira watches him slump unconscious in his chair with milky white eyes, weeping black tears, and knows instantly she is the cause, a guilt she cannot explain but cannot shake.

His abilities extend beyond foresight. In Books 6 and 7, he uses his power to put a group of people into a passive state of mind, leading them safely to shelter during a supernatural battle. He leads Rue, a blind witch, during combat operations, acting as both her guide and her protection.

As a swordsman, he remains formidable. In Book 3, he and Draven spar with samurai swords in a sequence Keira watches with open astonishment, the two of them exchanging blows in Japanese and matching each other move for move. In Book 10, he enters battle with both samurai swords ignited in blue flames, and in the same sequence, reveals himself as the sword master who trained Marcus, addressing him as Master Mareo and receiving a bow of genuine respect in return.

He is one of the few people Draven genuinely considers an old friend, a title earned across centuries of service, loyalty, and the kind of quiet competence that never needs to announce itself.

What does Takeshi look like? Here is a detailed visual profile.

Takeshi is one of the most visually distinctive members of Draven’s council, combining an unmistakable physical presence with a consistency of appearance that never changes across the series. He always looks exactly like himself, which in a world of supernatural beings who shift and transform, is quietly notable.

Height and Build: Not described with specific measurements, but his presence alongside Draven’s other council members suggests a lean, controlled build consistent with a lifelong martial artist rather than the raw physical mass of someone like Ragnar or Zagan. He moves with the kind of precision that comes from centuries of sword mastery.

Hair: Raven black, slicked back from his face with no strand out of place. The styling is deliberate and immaculate, adding to the overall impression of controlled, disciplined elegance.

Face: Strong, sharply defined features with high cheekbones and a distinct, pointed chin, the latter being one of the most specifically noted physical details in the books. His features are described as oriental, carrying the unmistakable quality of a noble bloodline. Keira consistently reads him as kind and gracious in expression, a warmth that sits naturally on otherwise sharp features.

Eyes: Dark, almost black in their normal state. When a vision takes hold, they shift dramatically, glazing over into something resembling muddy water before flickering between black and clear like a stormy night. In deeper trance states, they go fully milky white, weeping contrasting black tears, one of the more unsettling visual details the books describe for any character.

Style: Japanese robes, consistently across every appearance in the series. The most detailed description places him in a plain black robe with a purple dragon embroidered on the back. He never appears in anything else. The robes are long and formal, entirely in keeping with the samurai heritage he carried into immortality.

Overall vibe: A Japanese nobleman and sword master rendered immortal, wearing his history as comfortably as his robes. Controlled, precise, and quietly formidable. The kind of man whose stillness commands more attention than others’ movement.

Celina was beautiful with amazing red hair that twisted down to one side, making a cascade of curls that lay on her shoulder.

We first learn about Celina in the first book in the series. She was a demon that Jack had fell in love with, (not knowing who she really was of course).

In Jack’s mind one day he’s dating this fabulous girl and then meets Dominic Draven and he never sees her again.

Of course later on we learn there is much, much more to this story.

Celina is a demon and according to the laws of the immortals, they are forbidden from dating mortals. Draven advocated for Celina and saved her life if she promised never to see the moral Jack ever again. Of course, she agreed and she also started serving on Draven’s council.

When Keira first met Draven he was worried about her safety in his world, so to push her away he pretended to be engaged to Celina.

The post Celina first appeared on The Afterlife Saga.

The saga of Lucius Septimius is a captivating tapestry woven through the pages of the Afterlife Series, with a backstory as engrossing as it is astonishing. Known as the eminent Vampire King, the tale of Lucius’s ascendancy to this title is laced with intrigue.

Tracing his origins to the nascent days of Christianity, Lucius’s earthly life as a human was intertwined with significant Biblical figures. Originally named Judas, he was the disciple infamously known for betraying Jesus—though, as the narrative unfurls, it reveals that history might have misinterpreted his actions. Following the crucifixion, he was unfairly vilified and met a tragic end, renouncing his faith in his final breaths.

Upon his death, he was reborn as Lucius, the progeny of Satan, bearing the distinctive power to transform demons into vampires through the potent gift embedded in his blood. This ability set him apart, anointing him as the chosen leader for a race of creatures poised on the brink of evolution. The vampires, once feeble entities, underwent a transformative mutation under Lucius’s dominion, evolving into beings of heightened strength, agility, and intellect.

Despite their shared history and kinship resembling brotherhood, the bonds between Lucius and Draven eventually frayed and snapped, leaving behind a chasm widened by betrayal and mistrust. Lucius, a figure imposing and statuesque, bore an appearance strikingly handsome yet subtly intimidating. With sandy blond hair framing a face with chiseled features and eyes that mirrored the chilling depth of darkened storm clouds, he was a visage of mesmerizing beauty and latent danger.

These eyes, a breathtaking canvas of silver-grey with icy blue flecks, possessed an allure both magnetic and treacherous, evoking images of impending storms obscuring serene skies. They were eyes that could ensnare souls, commanding attention and reverence with their intensity.

The narrative elaborates on his physical allure further, painting a picture of a man whose stature and physique were reminiscent of mythological figures of beauty and strength. Lucius, with his careless elegance and an air of indifferent charm, was a being who could easily enthrall, his presence demanding and enthralling.

The process of transformation under Lucius’s hand not only endowed vampires with unparalleled power but also bound them in servitude to him, their lives inextricably linked to his existence. It was whispered that the demise of Lucius would herald the end for all vampires tethered to him.

His powers were not merely physical; Lucius was a master manipulator, wielding control over minds with effortless ease. His dominion extended over various beings, with humans being particularly susceptible to his influence. However, stronger minds offered greater resistance, limiting the scope of his control.

Lucius’s tale, while interspersed within the Afterlife Series, is extensively explored in his dedicated series, Transfusion. It is within these pages that readers become intimately acquainted with this enigmatic figure, delving into the complexities of his character and unfolding the tale of his chosen one, Amelia Faith.

Amelia tells us in great detail about his eye color in Transfusion.

Then there were his eyes. Eyes that seemed to have the power to pierce your very soul, capturing it and only releasing it again when his gaze was no longer blessing you by being directed your way. The silver grey with flecks of blue that looked like ice over water.

The colour reminded me of a storm that was brewing, rolling in over clear blue skies and consuming them. Even the sandy blonde brows that slanted across his deep-set eyes gave him a dark angelic look that would have fooled anyone naive enough to believe that he was a man to be trusted with your life in his hands.

She also tells us a bit more about his looks. Beyond that of his eye color that is.

Incredibly tall and built like an Olympic athlete who does body building on the side, meant that he looked like a living Adonis. With his sandy coloured hair in a messy style that just screamed that he didn’t give a damn and got out the shower, rubbing a towel over it before it dried naturally that way. Or was it his chiseled jaw line and perfectly shaped lips that had women ready to sign over their ovaries and beg him to make babies with them like I was close to doing right alongside them?

The post Lucius first appeared on The Afterlife Saga.

Husband to Sophia Draven.

He’s originally from Instanbul.

All of one side of his face was covered in a strange series of tattoos that snaked around the scar and ran the full length of his face. The black ink passed through the damaged skin, but the ink disappeared when it reached the injured tissue. It made it look as if there were pieces missing from the design.

Apart from this, he had a very serious but handsome face, with long, platinum blonde hair that fell down under the black hood he wore over his head. He was ice white and scary.

The post Zagan first appeared on The Afterlife Saga.
