Smidge seamlessly operates in the role of Jared’s assistant, efficiently navigating through her responsibilities with a finesse that denotes competency and dedication. While their professional dynamic is unmistakable, there’s a tender undercurrent in their interactions, spotlighting Jared’s evident soft spot for her. This subtle affection grants Smidge a degree of freedom and indulgence rarely extended to even the seasoned members of his esteemed council, illuminating the special rapport shared between the duo.

The narrative subtly entwines Smidge with Marcus, who is visibly enthralled by her charm. While they are not romantically entangled, the threads of attraction and subtle longing weave a silent dance around them. Marcus, caught in the invisible web of unspoken feelings, often orchestrates scenarios aimed at stirring the embers of jealousy within Smidge, signaling his veiled attempt to capture her attention and perhaps, her heart.

Smidge’s character, though not placed under the glaring spotlight of the main plot, is nevertheless integral to the unfolding tapestry of relationships and dynamics within the story. Each of her appearances adds nuance and depth to the narrative, offering readers glimpses of her professional commitment, the silent affection lighting Jared’s gaze, and the discreet dance of attraction playing out between her and Marcus.

Through the chapters, Smidge weaves in and out, contributing to the storyline with her presence, actions, and the subtle dynamics shared with the characters around her, ultimately serving as a vital supporting character whose role, while not at the forefront, is crucial in adding layers and subtle shades to the unfolding tale.

The post Smidge first appeared on The Afterlife Saga.

Jared Cerberus, drawing inspiration from the mythical Cerberus of Greek mythology, is an imposing figure intricately woven into the tapestry of The Hellbeast King series. Like his mythological counterpart, who stands guard at the Underworld’s gates preventing the deceased from fleeing, Jared emanates an aura of mystery and formidable power.

The original Cerberus, born to the monstrous duo Echidna and Typhon, is a creature of daunting physicality — characterized by three heads, a serpent tail, and a cluster of snakes emerging from various body parts. Jared embodies this myth, although not necessarily in physical form, perhaps more in spirit and essence, bearing a daunting presence that commands respect and instills fear.

In the unfolding narrative of The Hellbeast King series, Jared doesn’t merely exist as a background entity; he takes center stage with a storyline distinctly his own. He isn’t merely the offspring of mythical beings but a character with depth, nuances, and a unique destiny entwined with his Electus, Ella. This chosen individual, Ella, plays a pivotal role in Jared’s life, being the one destined to be by his side, marking a significant chapter in the saga.

Jared, also affectionately referred to as “J” by brother, is more than just a name in the series; he’s a living, breathing embodiment of myth, a character whose presence is as substantial as the shadows cast by the ancient tales of Greece. With a story that promises intrigue and complexity, Jared Cerberus is a character whose tale is waiting to unfold, bearing the weight of mythology and the fresh ink of new narratives.

In mythology, hell beasts are typically depicted as creatures originating from hell or another demonic or infernal dimension. They may be associated with darkness, evil, or chaos. These creatures often possess a terrifying and monstrous appearance designed to instill fear. They might have features commonly associated with demons, like horns, wings, fangs, or fiery eyes. Hell beasts are usually portrayed as extraordinarily powerful entities. They might possess supernatural strength, speed, durability, and various magical or psychic abilities. Often, hell beasts are depicted as having malevolent or destructive intentions, serving dark lords or acting on their own to create chaos and suffering.

The post Jared Cerberus first appeared on The Afterlife Saga.

Carrie Ella, primarily known as Ella, is the cherished daughter of Libby and Frank and the beloved niece of Keira, who was honored to bestow upon her the name. Introduced in “Hellbeasts’ Mistake,” Ella becomes a character of significance, with her story taking center stage in the subsequent “Hellbeast King” series.

As a young girl, the tender nickname “Ella Bella” was affectionately used by Aunt Keira, reflecting little Ella’s deep fascination with the tale of Beauty and the Beast. However, with the birth of Fae, this moniker evolved whimsically into “Ella Belly.” This playful name, originating from the joyous moments where Ella would delight in blowing raspberries on baby Fae’s belly, would adhere to her over the years, becoming a term of endearment utilized by family members and her cousin Faith well into Ella’s adult years.

Ella’s narrative gains momentum in the “Hellbeast King” series, where fate intricately entwines her path with that of Jared Cerberus. Their initial meeting, seemingly accidental, occurs when Ella is but a 16-year-old, navigating the complex tapestry of adolescence. The narrative then leaps forward, reacquainting readers with an older Ella who, after completing her collegiate journey, immerses herself in a career closely aligned with her love for animals, assuming the role of a park ranger.

In the cradle of nature, where the whispering trees and untamed wilderness provide a backdrop, Ella’s story with Jared Cerberus unfolds, weaving a narrative rich in adventure, romance, and the eternal dance between destiny and desire. The canvas of her life, painted with the hues of family love, personal growth, and a romance as wild and free as the beasts she tends to, invites readers into a captivating saga where every chapter reveals a new layer of her character and the world she inhabits.

The post Ella first appeared on The Afterlife Saga.

The saga of Lucius Septimius is a captivating tapestry woven through the pages of the Afterlife Series, with a backstory as engrossing as it is astonishing. Known as the eminent Vampire King, the tale of Lucius’s ascendancy to this title is laced with intrigue.

Tracing his origins to the nascent days of Christianity, Lucius’s earthly life as a human was intertwined with significant Biblical figures. Originally named Judas, he was the disciple infamously known for betraying Jesus—though, as the narrative unfurls, it reveals that history might have misinterpreted his actions. Following the crucifixion, he was unfairly vilified and met a tragic end, renouncing his faith in his final breaths.

Upon his death, he was reborn as Lucius, the progeny of Satan, bearing the distinctive power to transform demons into vampires through the potent gift embedded in his blood. This ability set him apart, anointing him as the chosen leader for a race of creatures poised on the brink of evolution. The vampires, once feeble entities, underwent a transformative mutation under Lucius’s dominion, evolving into beings of heightened strength, agility, and intellect.

Despite their shared history and kinship resembling brotherhood, the bonds between Lucius and Draven eventually frayed and snapped, leaving behind a chasm widened by betrayal and mistrust. Lucius, a figure imposing and statuesque, bore an appearance strikingly handsome yet subtly intimidating. With sandy blond hair framing a face with chiseled features and eyes that mirrored the chilling depth of darkened storm clouds, he was a visage of mesmerizing beauty and latent danger.

These eyes, a breathtaking canvas of silver-grey with icy blue flecks, possessed an allure both magnetic and treacherous, evoking images of impending storms obscuring serene skies. They were eyes that could ensnare souls, commanding attention and reverence with their intensity.

The narrative elaborates on his physical allure further, painting a picture of a man whose stature and physique were reminiscent of mythological figures of beauty and strength. Lucius, with his careless elegance and an air of indifferent charm, was a being who could easily enthrall, his presence demanding and enthralling.

The process of transformation under Lucius’s hand not only endowed vampires with unparalleled power but also bound them in servitude to him, their lives inextricably linked to his existence. It was whispered that the demise of Lucius would herald the end for all vampires tethered to him.

His powers were not merely physical; Lucius was a master manipulator, wielding control over minds with effortless ease. His dominion extended over various beings, with humans being particularly susceptible to his influence. However, stronger minds offered greater resistance, limiting the scope of his control.

Lucius’s tale, while interspersed within the Afterlife Series, is extensively explored in his dedicated series, Transfusion. It is within these pages that readers become intimately acquainted with this enigmatic figure, delving into the complexities of his character and unfolding the tale of his chosen one, Amelia Faith.

Amelia tells us in great detail about his eye color in Transfusion.

Then there were his eyes. Eyes that seemed to have the power to pierce your very soul, capturing it and only releasing it again when his gaze was no longer blessing you by being directed your way. The silver grey with flecks of blue that looked like ice over water.

The colour reminded me of a storm that was brewing, rolling in over clear blue skies and consuming them. Even the sandy blonde brows that slanted across his deep-set eyes gave him a dark angelic look that would have fooled anyone naive enough to believe that he was a man to be trusted with your life in his hands.

She also tells us a bit more about his looks. Beyond that of his eye color that is.

Incredibly tall and built like an Olympic athlete who does body building on the side, meant that he looked like a living Adonis. With his sandy coloured hair in a messy style that just screamed that he didn’t give a damn and got out the shower, rubbing a towel over it before it dried naturally that way. Or was it his chiseled jaw line and perfectly shaped lips that had women ready to sign over their ovaries and beg him to make babies with them like I was close to doing right alongside them?

The post Lucius first appeared on The Afterlife Saga.

Amelia Faith, the progeny of Keira and Dominic Draven, embarks on her life’s tapestry as an adult in the series Transfusion. With her roots embedded deeply within the mystical and enigmatic realms of immortality, Amelia crafts a niche for herself as an Egyptologist, diligently working amidst the historical grandeur of the British Museum.

As readers acquaint themselves with Amelia at the onset of Transfusion, they are privy to the delicate strands of her heartstrings, entangled with unrequited affections for Lucius. His apparent disinterest leaves imprints of pain and alienation on Amelia’s soul, nudging her towards a quest for identity and belonging distinct from the immortal canvas of her parents.

Embracing the pursuit of normalcy and eager to carve her trajectory devoid of her family’s protective shadows, Amelia dives into the realms of academia, immersing herself in college life. This chapter of self-discovery and subtle defiance sees her striving to navigate the terrains of mortality, all while nursing the silent ache for Lucius lingering within her heart.

Upon the completion of her collegiate journey, Amelia relocates to the pulsating heart of London, finding refuge and purpose within the venerable walls of the British Museum. It is here, at the age of 27, that the curtain rises, revealing Amelia’s story as it weaves through the pages of Transfusion.

Standing at a height of 5 feet and 5 inches, Amelia is a captivating presence, with her midnight-black tresses framing a face that mirrors the allure of her lineage. Her eyes, a mesmerizing blend of blue and violet, serve as windows to a soul that is as resilient as it is sensitive, reflecting the depth of her experiences and the tapestry of emotions coloring her life’s journey.

With every step Amelia takes, with every page that turns to reveal her tale, readers are invited to explore a narrative steeped in history, personal growth, and the eternal quest for love and identity. In her, the echoes of Keira and Draven resonate, yet Amelia’s song is uniquely her own, a melody of strength, vulnerability, and indomitable spirit.

Sophia Draven, one-third of the mystical triplet constellation alongside Dominic and Vincent, captivates with her petite, ethereal presence that mirrors the whimsical beauty of elves. Her stature, small and delicate, moves with a lightness and grace that seem to dance with the unseen melodies of the magical and the divine.

Their father is a demon (Asmodeus), and their mother is an angel.

A cascade of luscious black hair, reminiscent of the finest silk, frames Sophia’s enchanting face in gentle curls. These tendrils of night sway and bounce with her movements, adding to her otherworldly charm. Sophia’s skin is a canvas of exquisite fairness, so translucent it seems to subtly glow, kissed by a blush of rose that breathes life into her porcelain-like complexion.

Her visage, reminiscent of a meticulously crafted china doll, bewitches with its perfection and delicate beauty. It’s as if each feature has been painted with the brushstrokes of celestial artists, rendering a countenance so stunning it appears almost unreal. With cheeks tinted with the soft hue of a blooming rose, Sophia’s appearance is a harmonious symphony of fragility and allure, a visual poem that celebrates the mystical beauty embedded in her genes.

Sophia Draven, though gently framed, is a canvas rich with the unseen and the extraordinary, a character whose physical appearance subtly reflects the depth and complexity of her narrative role. In her, the tale weaves threads of magic, beauty, and the eternal dance between the fragile and the strong, drawing readers into a story that is as captivating and delicate as Sophia herself.

Justin, the younger sibling to Frank, enters the narrative as a contemporary to Keira, their paths first intertwining amid the joyous celebration of Frank and Libby’s wedding. Distinctly human and delightfully easygoing, Justin mirrors Frank in disposition but diverts sharply when it comes to physical appearance.

Justin embodies a different breed of handsomeness compared to his elder brother. Where Frank exudes the charm of a lovable, robust bear, Justin’s allure lies in his youthful, almost ethereal beauty. Possessing a visage reminiscent of a laid-back surfer, his features are crowned by a cascade of long, blonde dreadlocks, framing a face that is both sweet and irresistibly magnetic.

Despite his baby-faced allure, Justin is acutely aware of his attractiveness and navigates through life with a confidence that borders on cockiness. This self-assuredness, however, does not tarnish his personality; instead, it adds an extra layer of charm to his character, making him an engaging presence within the storyline.

In the tapestry of the series, it is subtly revealed that Keira harbored a flicker of attraction towards Justin during their initial meetings, a detail that does not escape Draven’s notice. This latent crush instigates waves of jealousy within Draven, adding a layer of complexity and subtle tension to the unfolding drama. Despite the minor nature of his role, Justin’s presence introduces intriguing dynamics and undercurrents within the story’s flow, making him a valuable addition to the narrative.

In the small town of Evergreen Falls, the Draven family is merely seen as wealthy enigmas, making their appearance once a year amidst whispered rumors and envious glances. Yet, beneath this facade of affluence, the Dravens harbor secrets ancient and profound.

Dominic Draven, the eldest of triplets, alongside his brother Vincent and sister Sophia, is no ordinary man. He is a majestic tapestry of angel and demon, ruling over earthbound supernatural beings with an authority born of his dual heritage. While Vincent embodies the serene grace of angels and Sophia, the unpredictable ferocity of demons, Dominic encapsulates the enthralling dance of light and shadow within himself.

Their father is a demon (Asmodeus), and their mother is an angel.

Possessing an allure that can only be described as breathtaking, Dominic exudes a Mediterranean charm with his dark, mesmerizing features and olive skin kissed by the sun’s golden rays. The narrative later unveils his Persian descent, casting a spell of exotic magnetism. His hair, a cascade of jet-black silk, falls naturally to his shoulders, framing a visage both meticulously groomed and ruggedly appealing, with eyes deep-set and ablaze with an intensity that seems to pierce through the veil of reality itself. These onyx orbs, tinged with an ethereal purple, bear witness to millennia of secrets and tales untold.

Gifted with the polyglot’s ability to dance through languages, Dominic often whispers phrases that weave through the air, carrying the weight and melody of ancient tongues. A master of the mind, he can delve into human consciousness, navigating its labyrinthine corridors to see through their eyes, exert control, and exert his will.

Dominic’s powers are manifold: he unfurls wings to soar through skies; his fangs are not vampiric but tools of unknown mysteries; his hands can bestow healing, and his body rejuvenates at a pace defying mortal constraints. With a mere thought, structures crumble and rebuild under his gaze, a testament to his mastery over matter itself.

Throughout the annals of time, Dominic has acquired skills mundane and extraordinary. A pilot, a polyglot, a healer, a lover of speed and weaponry—each facet of his character is a chapter waiting to be explored. However, beneath the sheen of perfection simmers a volatile temper, a possessiveness towards Keira that paints the canvas of their relationship with vibrant and sometimes alarming hues.

The enigma of Dominic’s age is a thread that runs throughout the series, hinting at a life that has witnessed empires rise and fall. He is ancient, with whispers suggesting an age spanning over four millennia, twice as old as Lucius, bearing the weight and wisdom of years with an elegance and power that is magnetic.

Dominic Draven is not just a character; he is an experience, a journey through time and emotion, a symphony of power and vulnerability, darkness and light, love and possession. With each page turned readers are invited to lose themselves in the depths of his eyes, to fly with him through skies inked with mystery, and to fall, irrevocably and completely, into the saga that unfolds with his every step.

What does Draven look like?

Dominic Draven is a character of otherworldly allure and commanding presence. Dominic is a blend of angel and demon, a symphony of contrasting powers and irresistible charm. His heritage is Persian, with skin that glows with a sun-kissed olive tone. His features are dark and compelling, exuding an exotic magnetism that captivates at first glance.

How old is Draven? That’s a hard question to answer. According to this passage, he would be born sometime around 507 BC (or earlier).

Arsaces I of Persia’s rule began in 247 BC, and according to the books- Dominic ruled as Arsaces for a large part of the Achaemenid empire. (Obviously, Dominic ruled as several Kings, changing through time, as mentioned in Septimus 1)

But before that, we have no dates to prove when Dominic was alive. However, we do have a piece of lore that comes in Septimus 2, when Sophia is telling Kiera about Pertinax.

The story goes that Pertinax was the ruler of supernatural life (presumably on Earth) and also a former president of hell. When Dominic was born, his parentage of half-demon/angel pushed Pertinax out of this role. He has had a vendetta ever since. Septimus 2 mentions Pertinax’s first attack on Arsaces in 193 AD (three months after the murder of Commodus and Pertinax becomes emperor) involving the culmination of -what the books describe as a ‘700-year-old feud’ between Dominic and Pertinax. Therefore, if this feud began at Dominic’s birth (and Pertinax was very angry about this), Dominic’s possible birthday would be around 507 BC.

But then someone else pointed out that Draven is also referred to as Enki. The god first appeared in written works during the Early Dynastic Period III (2600-2334 BCE) and was established as an important god of the Akkadians by c. 2400 BCE, who knew him as Ea. Excavations at Eridu, however, have uncovered evidence of a tradition of shrines to Enki dating back to the founding of the city c. 5400 BCE.

So, how old is Draven? Anywhere from 4,000 to 10,000 years old. We know that Lucius is over 2,000 years old, and Draven is much, much older than that.

The AI Analysis of Dominic Draven’s Look

I took a copy of the first book from the Afterlife series and had AI do a deep dive and give me a detailed analysis of everyone’s favorite demon. This is more updated from my original image above, as it’s based on more advanced artificial intelligence. (Dec 2025)
